Gaïna Dávila joined the State Department in 2014, and has since served in Washington D.C., Bangladesh, West Africa, and the Eastern Caribbean. Gaïna is currently the Public Affairs Officer and Spokesperson at U.S. Embassy Yaoundé. Before joining the State Department, she served as the Communications Director for Haiti in Transition (H.i.T), a non-profit organization that aimed to develop sustainable means of empowering Haiti’s youth and future leaders. Gaïna is the co-founder of Davila Kafe, an award-winning specialty coffee company, and is a member of the Foreign
Service Journal Editorial Board as well as an alumnus of the International Career Advancement Program (ICAP). She holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign policy and a master’s degree in international communications from American University. Gaïna speaks French, Haitian-Creole, and Spanish. She is based in Cameroon
