personal info
I am Jean René LOUMOU NONO, 63 years old, married and father of 8 children. I trained as a telecommunications engineer in Germany. After working for a few years in Germany, I returned to Cameroon in 1993 and, together with my brothers, set up an engineering consultancy which I managed. After working for CAMTEL MOBILE from 1998 to 2003, when it was taken over by MTN, I set up Be-Technologie with some friends, where I stayed until 2007. My time at MINRESI’s National Centre for Technological Development (CNDT) as Chairman of the ICT Technical Commission allowed me to interact with the world of RESEARCH. After taking an active part in the development of the E-government project, I was subsequently admitted to the Agence de Régulation des Télécommunications in June 2007, where my experience and expertise in the field of spatial segma excelled, in particular as: in charge of the ‘Local Provider’ Committee (provisional local provider of access to space segma), in charge of issues related to space segma in the search for a solution to the problem of the digital divide, in charge of the National Management of the Frequency Spectrum, in charge of drawing up the ToRs of the project for the creation of a Cameroon Space Agency (A. S.C). I remained there until June 2021 as Director of the Control Brigade, the year of my retirement. I was retained by the ART as a permanent consultant in charge of the project to set up a Space Agency in Cameroon.
