Mr. Martin Hart-Hansen (Denmark) was appointed Deputy Resident Representative for UNDP in Cameroon in August 2023. Prior to this, Martin worked as Chief of Staff at UN Volunteers from 2018, in charge of managing the Executive Office as well as of corporate strategic planning and results-based management. With over twenty years of international development experience, he has worked at both country and headquarters levels on various sustainable development and policy issues, including post-conflict, disaster and crisis recovery, youth engagement and entrepreneurship, social innovation and climate action. Before joining UNV, Martin worked as UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Thailand (2015-2018), Policy Specialist in the UNDP Executive Office in New York (2011-2015), Special Assistant to the UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal (2008-2011), and prior to that, from 2000 to 2008, Martin held various positions with UNICEF in Bhutan, India and the Maldives. Martin holds a master’s degree in economics from University of Copenhagen in Denmark.
