Dr-Ing Nkwenti Azong-Wara

Dr.-Ing. Nkwenti Azong-Wara (PhD in Engineering) is a recognized leader in the engineering and fintech sector in Cameroon. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Maviance in Cameroon.
After successfully developing a pioneer software solution (as part of his Master’s Thesis in Software Engineering) which interpreted the spectrum of Nanoparticles as measured by conventional exposure equipment, he followed up in the same Nanoparticle space by pursuing a PhD in Mechanical engineering, using computational fluid dynamics to model, build and deploy a personal thermophoretic sampler used in measuring exposure in workplaces, and which has enables the fight against possible diseases caused by Nanoparticle exposure.
He studied from 2000 to 2007 at the University of Duisburg-Essen and graduated with a Master of Science (MSc) in Software Engineering and a Doctorate in the field of Mechanical Engineering, which he successfully graduated from in February 2013.
Dr-Ing. Nkwenti Azong-Wara joined Maviance as the first head of a Fintech startup in Cameroon. He was instrumental in the launch and stability of this business model for digital payment solutions in Cameroon and the CEMAC.
Before joining Maviance, he worked as a mechanical engineer at Siemens A.G. from 2011 to 2013.
Dr-Ing. Azong-Wara combines technical expertise and strategic leadership to advance financial inclusion as well as the creation of direct and indirect jobs, especially in the underserved communities. Known for his forward-thinking approach, he actively forges partnerships that strengthen Maviance’s competitive edge in Africa’s fintech landscape.
